What’s the Big Deal About Branding?

While planning our upcoming FemCity Monmouth County women’s workshop on branding I was speaking with someone about why I thought she would benefit from attending.

She says: “I think I’m good my products speak for themselves and everyone knows who my company is.”

My response: “Oh cool, so you’re where you want to be financially and everyone knows who YOU are too?”

It was fun to watch her facial response. Needless to say, she will now be attending!

So what’s the big deal about branding? Here is some information I found from 3 sources on why branding is important so you can decide for yourself if it’s something you should invest your time and energy into.

  • “It is what separates competitors and helps consumers remember a product. The purpose of a brand is to increase sales by making the product or service the most visible and desired by the consumer. Branding is becoming more than a logo or a product. It is becoming a promise of quality and reputation!” Source: Quality Logo Products
  • “Products have life cycles. Brands outlive products. Brands convey a uniform quality, credibility and experience. Brands are valuable.” Source: Forbes
  • “They support price premiums over competitors. They attract new customers. They help block new competitors, as loyal customers are less likely to switch to new or different brands. They create a bigger footprint to enable expansion into new markets.” Source: Essentials of Business

See why branding is a big deal now? What are some of your experiences with branding or tips you’d like to share?
